Frequently asked questions

Do you just speak English?

I do not. I do speak Dutch and a little bit of Spanish as well. Just let me know what you prefer. While I primarily communicate in English because it's generally more convenient and flows smoothly for most of us, I'm flexible.

What does a tattoo ceremony mean, and what can people expect from it?

First of all, it a day for you! The heart of the ceremony lies in the intention and energy infused into the tattoo, making it a profoundly personal and transformative journey. I wholeheartedly believe in the significance of the work I do. Altering one's body in this way should always be approached with utmost care and attention. The energy we imbue into our tattoos stays with us for a lifetime.

A tattoo ceremony is for everyone. It's a ritual where getting a tattoo becomes a transformative journey, regardless of one's spiritual beliefs.

For me, a tattoo ceremony is about self-expression, empowerment, and connection. It's an opportunity to commemorate important life events, memories, or values by permanently inscribing them onto the skin.

During a tattoo ceremony, participants can expect a welcoming and inclusive environment. Whether it's their first tattoo or an addition to existing artwork, the focus is on creating a meaningful experience tailored to their unique journey.

From the initial consultation to the final ink session, clients are guided through the process with care and respect. Artists work collaboratively with them to bring their vision to life, ensuring that each tattoo carries personal significance and emotional resonance.

Ultimately, a tattoo ceremony is a celebration of identity, growth, and connection—a reminder of the stories we carry and the journeys that shape us.

Is everyone welcome?

Yes, Yes, Yes! The tattoo ceremonies are open to everyone, regardless of background or beliefs. We welcome all who are seeking a meaningful and transformative experience.

What is your approach?

I work with the hand poke method, which I perceive as a ancient spiritual tool and an extension of myself.

My ceremonies are peaceful and meditative. Often, people find the process of receiving a tattoo to be a unique journey, where some enter a meditative state or even fall asleep. Each person experiences it in their own way.

I have a gentle touch and a soft energy.

What is the investment?

The investment in a Tattoo Ceremony Journey varies from person to person, and from Ceremony to Ceremony. When you make an inquiry, you will receive an estimate of the price.

Where is your studio located?

In Rotterdam-Zuid. This is a private studio, so I work by appointment only. You will receive the address after scheduling an appointment.

Will I get to see the design beforehand?

There are two options:

  1. We completely open up during our Ceremony and channel the design together on the spot (I will guide you through this).

  2. I design a tattoo for you beforehand, and we go through the whole design process together before the actual tattoo appointment. You will receive te design 2 weeks before so we have some time for possible adjustments.

Try to maintain trust. The design evolves organically & it cannot be rushed.

In the design, I try to incorporate as much as possible from what you share with me, but I need space and freedom to interpret it in my own way.

What if the design doesn't feel right?

If the design doesn't resonate with you, we can explore adjustments during the consultation process. Your comfort and satisfaction are paramount, and I'm committed to ensuring that the final design reflects your vision and feels aligned with your intentions. We can discuss any concerns or changes needed to create a tattoo that truly speaks to you.

Can I have my own design tattooed during a Ceremony?

It depends largely on the design and who created it. Generally, you can see my style on my website and Instagram, and your design should fit within this aesthetic. Additionally, I need to feel the energy it carries, and it must also align with mine.

If you've created a sketch yourself, it's definitely welcome. I'd love to incorporate your energy into the design!

Can I bring someone to the Ceremony?

Typically, no. I firmly believe it's best for the process if we can devote our full attention to it. However, there are exceptions. If you genuinely feel it's necessary for you, please let me know!

Is this for me?

This ceremonial approach is for you if you feel a deep inner calling, if you hear a powerful 'YES' resonating within. It's for those who see this as an investment in themselves, an opportunity to experience profound personal growth and spiritual connection through body art.

When is this not for me?

This may not be for you if you're primarily seeking a quick or purely aesthetic tattoo experience without considering the deeper layers of this process. If you're not open to embracing ceremony, intentionality, and spiritual exploration in your tattoo journey, this approach may not align with your preferences.

Do you do cover-ups?

I love doing cover-up tattoos, because they are one of the big reason why I started this journey, symbolizing transformation and renewal. With each dot of ink, past wounds are alchemized into symbols of strength and resilience. Beyond cosmetic changes, they represent a journey through layers of existence, releasing old energy to make space for new beginnings. Like nature's cycles, they mirror growth from decay and endings leading to fresh starts. In this act of self-expression, scars become stories of triumph, and pain becomes a catalyst for growth. Ultimately, cover-up tattoos transmute darkness into light, reminding us of the beauty in every scar and the potential for healing and renewal within us all.

If your old tattoo just doesn't feel right, this is the way to feel free in our vehicle of life again :)

Can I bring something to the ceremony?

Absolutely, you can bring anything you want. Bring along items that are important to you, that give you strength, or hold special significance for you.

How do I get in touch with you?
